F4D Skyray (Turbine)

Jet Hangar F4D-1 Skyray

The F4D Skyray is currently in development to be available as a turbine kit. The kit will be highly prefabricated consisting of pre-primered composite parts for a majority of the components and foam wings. This aircraft is a true to scale representation of the F4D Skyray in miniature at 1/9 scale. Featuring molded panel lines and details, the Skyray is one that is sure to turn heads at your local flying field. The current prototype is finished and is having installed an MW-54 turbine engine. Once flown, a second prototype built from a "beta" kit to be built and flown with the MW-54 MkIII turbine engine. The final kit offering will be designed around the MW-54 turbine engine but be available with a ducted fan option. Check back for updates, pictures and even flight video (when that time comes). We are always more than happy to answer any questions you have, so please feel free to call or email.

The following represents a series of images from the current prototype in its finished state. We are currently in the process of replacing the ducted fan setup with an MW-54 turbine engine. The model was built by Bert Ayers and will be flying soon. Please check back for future progress and flight reports.
