The Jet Hangar International F9F-8 Cougar offers modelers another classic Korean War vintage fighter aircraft. Having served with the Blue Angels, the F9F-8 Cougar is fully aerobatic and can perform all maneuvers as performed by the full size Blue Angels pilots. This kit offers ease of maintenance, a very scale appearance, excellent flying characteristics, and a proven internal airflow system, for all of these were considerations as part of the design phase. Also, the F9F-8 Cougar's flying characteristics offer a very stable performance throughout all regimes of flight and this aircraft has been recorded reaching speeds upwards of 170 mph with a turbine! This aircraft lends itself perfectly for turbine since, there is plenty of room for fuel. This aircraft took 6th place in the First Annual United States Scale Masters Championships. JHH F9F Cougar with our 12s E-Turbax!
Cougar with a 12s E-Turbax? You bet and WE LOVE IT! As well as the cougar flies with the 90mm fan, it really lends itself perfectly to the larger E-Turbax fan as the airframe has a very large wing and there's a nice amount of room in the fuse for batteries. With a new redesigned inlet system for the E-Turbax, the fan combined with our NeuEnergy 6500 mah convertible batteries is pushing this airframe well into the 170 mph range with insane verticals! Fully loaded, the airplane weighs a little under 14lb. The new 120mm E-Turbax ducting for the Cougar will be available soon, so please feel free to email or call with any questions.

JHH F9F Cougar with our NEW 12s 90mm EDF!
In an effort to offer even better performance with the 90mm EDF, we've come up with a new 12s combination that offers even better performance and flight time than the 8s combination! The result is the Neu 1415/2Y motor in the Midifan PRO. Running on 12s, this fan/motor combination pushes approximately 10lb thrust at 75 amps and 3400 watts. Fully loaded, the airplane weighs a little over 11lb and is pushing 150mph with great vertical! 90mm ducting for the Cougar is available, so please feel free to email or call with any questions.
Brent's cougar is currently being fitted with a 12s E-Turbax and new area ruled ducting, so stay tuned!

JHH F9F Cougar with a 90mm EDF?
Yep, that's right! Though a guarunteed performer with our E-Turbax 120mm EDF, we've had numerous questions regarding flying our Cougar (and some of our other aircraft) with a 90mm fan. Well, here is the result, great performance in a light and economical package!
Debuted at the Arizona Jet Rally, Brent Hecht built this Cougar to explore the flight characteristics of the design with the 90mm Midifan PRO. Working with Neu motors, we were able to get a high performance motor developed that fits into the 90mm Midifan; the result is the 1415/1.5Y. Running on 8s, this fan/motor combination pushes approximately 9lb thrust at 95 amps and 2500 watts. Fully loaded, the airplane weighs a little over 10lb and performance is really something to see. When he's not flying the "Hecht" out of this Cougar, Brent is currently building a sabre kit for the 12s midifan setup.
